How To Get To Hai Van Pass

The most popular route to travel from Hoi An to Hue is through Hai Van Pass. You can rent a motorbike or private car at the starting point (Hue or Hoi An) and return it at your destination.

Best Time to Visit Hai Van Pass

The best time to visit Hai Van Pass is from January to March, the weather is these months is dry and pleasant, the temperature is usually between 22 to 28 degrees.

In April and May, the weather is dry but  hot and humid during the day, it’s also a great time to visit Hai Van Pass.

From June to August is the peak season in Vietnam,  there are a lot of domestic tourists come in during the summer.

From September to the end of December (wet season), the pass becomes very risky during this time because of the fog and clouds.

When visiting Hai Van Pass, make sure that you have these essential things with you: Sunscreen, long-sleeved tops, and long pants. During the cooler months, a warmer and waterproof layer is also recommended because the weather is quite cold on the top of the pass.
