According to some documents have recorded, Thanh Toan tile roofed bridge was built in 1776 and completed in the same year. Thanks to the great credit of a woman named Tran Thi Dao. She was one of the descendants of the sixth generation of Tran family in Thanh Toan Village. She wanted to use her money to pray for the village so that’s why Thanh Toan Bridge was built. This tile roofed ridge was a wonderful place for traveler to relax after a long journey.
Thanh Toan Bridge was built in a very popular architectural style at that time, which was the style of “a bridge under a house” – on the house under the bridge, which means that the bridge is covered with a roof designed like a house.
